The Universidad del Mar is a public university in Oaxaca, Mexico founded in 1991. The university is a teaching and research facility, with six research institutes. Bachelor's degrees and masters of science degrees are offered. It has three campuses, all on the Pacific coast. They are in Huatulco, Puerto Escondido, and Puerto Angel. In addition, it has a tourism training center in Oaxaca City.
The standard short form for the university is UMAR.
The university ranks 44th in research among Mexico universities.
