Universal Protection Service is a private security company in the United States.
History
Universal Protection Service was founded in 1965. It was started out as a janitorial company, expanding into security by 1969.
In 2015, it acquired Guardsmark, thus becoming the largest privately owned security contractor in the US. Guardsmark's founder, Ira A. Lipman, joined UPS's board as vice chairman.
It is a subsidiary of Universal Services of America, which is owned by Warburg Pincus and Partners Group.
