United Energy Pakistan (UEP) is an Oil & Gas Exploration and production company with footprint in Sindh province of Pakistan, around 100 km to the east of Karachi. The asset was owned by BP Pakistan till September 2011 when United Energy Group (UEG) successfully took over the operation and subsequently named as UEP. Company's asset covers 08 districts in Sindh province namely Badin, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Thatta, Hyderabad (rural), Matiari, Sanghar and Mirpur Khas. Currently, there are 09 active production and exploration blocks in Sindh province and four offshore exploration blocks in the Arabian Sea. Recently the Company also won bids for two new exploration blocks, Digri and Sanghar South, which lie adjacent to UEP's Mirpur Khas Khipro concession areas.
UEG took control of BP Pakistan asset in September 2011 which then officially became UEP. UEG is a Hong Kong listed company in the sector of oil and gas exploration with patented technologies in support services in China and Indonesia. The Company is partnered with China National Petroleum Company (CNPC) in its one project in China. UEG is looking into further investment options in South East Asia and the Americas.
