    History

Faisalabad, being the industrial hub of Punjab, was in a dire need of a professional engineering institute to provide much needed human resource to the local industry. In 2004, the government of Pakistan directed government of Punjab to set up a campus of University of Engineering and Technology Lahore in Faisalabad with a future plan to upgrade the campus into a full fledged university. The campus was initially started in the older Hamdard University Faisalabad campus until the buildings were constructed at the current location, which is near Khurrianwala Industrial city of Faisalabad.
