Exams
The school follows the syllabus of the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) from class IX to X. The school holds exams four times in one scholastic year. Two of the four exams are "Unit tests", in which, the subject papers are of 50 marks each. The other two exams are the Half-yearly and the Annual Exam with 100 mark for all subjects in both the exams.
School life
The school life of U.N.Academy, Barpeta Road School is very different to that of a normal high school as it offers an adult learning environment, similarly to a university. Students may refer to their teachers by their first name. No school uniform is enforced, but are, however, required to follow school dress code; either uniform as sold by the school or school colours; blue, white, grey, black and green. Students are required to carry an identification card and are allowed to leave the school premises during their non-timetabled periods. Student parking is also available for students driving to and from school.
Subjects and medium
The medium of teaching is Bodo, but students can take classes in English also. The following subjects are there for both the High and M.E. section. The Hindi, History and Adv. Mathematic are Elective Subjects and students have to opt for any one of them.
Academic session
The academic session starts from January to December. After the completion of six months a Half Yearly Examination is conducted. Then in the end of the year the Annual Examination is commenced. Every class teacher takes a Unit Test on their subject throughout the year.
Summer classes
This is an initiative taken by the school coaching classes to the students during the summer vacation period. Students from other schools of the locality also can join these summer classes.
Annual sports
Annual Sports competition are held every year in the month of February. Different types of games are played during the competition. Single games like races, shotput, javelin throw, discus throw, long jump, high jump, etc. and group games like cricket, volleyball, kho-kho, tug-of-war, kabbadi, etc. are played.
Days of historical importance
Indian Independence Day[15 August], Republic Day[26 January] and Bodo's importance days are also celebrated with the flag hoisting, singing of national anthem and a march-past by the Scout and Guide students.
