Type 98 grenade

The Type 98 Hand Grenade (九八式柄付手榴弾, Kyūhachi-shiki etsuki teryūdan) was a fragmentation hand grenade deployed by the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. It operated similarly to the German Model 24 stick grenade.

Copied by the Chinese National Revolutionary Army in World War II as the Type 23, and later used by the Chinese Communists, who supplied the locally manufactured Type 67 to the NLF and People's Army of Vietnam.
