Two-up two-down is type of small house with two rooms on the ground floor and two rooms upstairs.

This form of architecture was widely used in industrial towns in the British Isles following the Industrial Revolution.

These types of dwellings are often in line for demolition and redevelopment, however in some areas local community groups have campaigned to save them, e.g. Toxteth Street in Openshaw, Manchester.
