Tsili Tsili is a village in the Watut Valley of Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea. During World War II, the grasslands outside of the village became a secret allied staging area and an airfield was built, known as Tsili Tsili Airfield. The name derives from the soldiers' mispronunciation of the Watut word 'tsikirik-tsikirik' which refers to the white pebbles that cover the grasslands.
