The name Dolly has been used for eight tropical cyclones in the Northern Atlantic Ocean:
Hurricane Dolly (1953) – A strong storm that weakened rapidly before passing over Bermuda.
Hurricane Dolly (1954) – Small storm that stayed far from land.
Hurricane Dolly (1968) – Moved up the east coast of the United States but did not hit land.
Tropical Storm Dolly (1974) – Weak storm that did not strike land.
Hurricane Dolly (1996) – Formed in the Caribbean, made landfall at Quintana Roo, Mexico and again at Tamaulipas, Mexico.
Tropical Storm Dolly (2002) – Formed west of Africa, tracked northwest, but never threatened land.
Hurricane Dolly (2008)- Category 2 hurricane that caused $1.5 billion in damage to Texas and Mexico.
Tropical Storm Dolly (2014) – Made landfall in Mexico.
The name Dolly, despite extensive damage in Texas in 2008, was not retired and is on the list for the 2020 season. It was a replacement for Diana after the 1990 season.
In the Northwestern Pacific Ocean:
Typhoon Dolly (1946), a strong typhoon that ultimately made landfall in China's Zhejiang province
In the Southeastern Indian Ocean:
Tropical Cyclone Dolly (1965), which never impacted land
In the Southwestern Indian Ocean:
Tropical Storm Dolly (1972), a system that developed off the coast of Madagascar that later grazed Réunion
