Trongsa School is located in the small town of Trongsa in Bhutan. It was founded in 1986 by a group of family leaders to educate the younger children of the town. The school has a role of approximately 60 pupils aged between 5 and 14. The school employs four full-time teachers who teach classes of around 15 pupils.

The school is sited inside a network of local caves which have been used as shelter from tropical storms for centuries. The caves have been converted to usable space with anonymous funding from an American donor.

Due to the expanding population of the town, the school hopes to expand further into the cave system to accommodate more pupils.

The school's motto is "tza hong yhau maeo", which roughly translates as "may the caves lead us to wisdom"
