Tottenham Hotspur freshman Timo Werner expressed his feelings about playing in front of Tottenham fans.

Werner was once a striker representing the German Bundesliga. He was ranked fourth in Bundesliga scoring with 21 goals in 31 matches for RB Leipzig in the 2016/17. In the 2019/20 season, he scored 28 goals in 34 matches for RB Leipzig, ranking second in the league behind Robert Lewandowski.

Based on Werner's performance in Leipzig, Werner moved to Chelsea during the 2020 summer transfer window. Contrary to expectations, Werner was sluggish at Chelsea. He never scored in double figures in the league during his two seasons with Chelsea. Werner returned to his former club Leipzig in the summer of 2022, but he only scored two goals and one assist in 14 games in the first half of this season.

It was Tottenham that reached out to Werner, who faced a major crisis in his career. In January, Tottenham embraced Werner on a loan deal that included a 17 million euro (W24.6 billion) full transfer option. Werner brought in Werner to fill the void left by Son Heung-min, who was drafted into the 2023 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup.

Werner scored his debut goal in the match against Crystal Palace in the 27th round of the English Premier League at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on the 3rd (Korea time). The start was unsettling. He had a chance to face the goalkeeper one-on-one with a pass from Son Heung-min in the first half, but failed to score.

Werner, who had dashed a crucial chance in the first half, scored a valuable equalizer in the 32nd minute when his team was trailing 0-1. Brennan Johnson, who took the ball away from Joakim Andersen's mistake on the right side, hit another defender before hitting a grounder cross. Werner, who was in the center, finished with his right foot.

Tottenham changed the course of the game thanks to Werner's goal. Later, in the 35th minute of the second half, Tottenham's vice-captain Christian Romero turned the game around with a header. In the 43rd minute of the second half, Son Heung-min scored his team's third goal to seal the game.

Werner expressed his impression of his first goal on Tottenham's "Review Show" after the match. "I'm very happy because it was after I missed one particularly big opportunity in the first half. I had a lot of luggage on my shoulders, but I enjoyed the moment I scored my debut goal in this stadium."  안전 토토사이트

Werner added, "When we have 60,000 fans behind us, we can hear and feel them when we make it 1-1. The fans also made sure that we were a better team in this game, so they helped us a lot. When the game turned 3-1, we could see everyone was happy and happy."
