 The Korea Football Association announced on the 3rd that it has appointed Park Yoon-jung, the current coach of the women's national team, as the coach of the women's under-20 U-20.

Born in 1989, Park Yoon-jung, who is 34 years old, became the third female national team coach in history after Hwang In-sun former U-20 national team and Kim Eun-jung current U-17 national team. In addition, he was recorded as the leader of the women's national team at the youngest age.

Coach Park Yoon-jung played for Seoul City Hall in the WK League, Chungbuk Sports Toto currently Sejong Sports Toto, and Albirex Niigata in Japan. After retiring, he began his leadership career as a coach at Yeoju University in 2016. After serving as a coach at Pohang Girls' High School, he served as a full-time leader of the Korea Football Association from 2019 and coached the women's U-17 and U-20 national teams. She has already experienced the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in 2022.

Coach Park Yoon-jung has been coaching the women's A team led by head coach Colin Bell since December last year and participated in the 2023 Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. With the appointment of head coach Park Yoon-jung, the women's U-20 national team will be newly formed with the goal of participating in the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Colombia in September next year. In order to participate in the World Cup, she must be in the top three at the Asian Football Confederation AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup in Uzbekistan in March next year. Coach Ko Hyun-bok, former leader of the Korea Football Association, goalkeeper coach Kim Dae-hwan, and physical coach Lee Geo-sung will assist coach Park Yoon-jung.

The women's U-20 national team will hold its first convocation training at the Paju National Training Center NFC from the 6th to the 9th of this month. Thirty-one players under the age of 19 were selected for the first convocation list, including Bae Ye-bin Wideok University, who was on the final list for the 2023 Women's World Cup, and Kim Se-yeon Chungju Yeseong Girls' High School, who recently participated in the preliminary round for the Paris Olympics.

After that, the team will be reduced to 22 players, reconvened on the 24th of this month, and will hold off-season training in Uzbekistan until the 4th of next month. On the 30th of this month and the 3rd of next month, two friendly matches will be held against the Uzbek women's U-20 team.
