The Los Angeles Dodgers, which recruited Shohei Ohtani (29), agreed to extend the contract worth 136.5 million U.S. dollars over five years with right-hander Tyler Glasnow (30), who they brought in in a 2-2 trade with the Tampa Bay Rays.

According to reports by MLB.COM and AP on the 17th, Glasnow could have become a free agent when his existing contract of $25 million expired next year, but he gave up and chose a long-term contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

He accepted the condition of receiving $10 million in down payment and $30 million if the club invokes the option in 2028.

Glasnow had 10-7 losses and 3.53 ERA this season. He pitched 21 times, the most by a single player. He pitched 120 innings and had 162 strikeouts. He gave up only 37 walks and divided strikeouts by walks with a ratio of 4.38, boasting a top-notch strikeout rate.

Glasnow, who has recorded 30 wins and 27 losses and an ERA of 3.89 over the past eight years in the big league, is strong in terms of fastballs, curves, and sliders that reach 160 kilometers per hour from a tall height of 203 centimeters. If he meets the condition that he is healthy, he is expected to serve as No. 1 and No. 2 of the Dodgers' starting pitchers. However, he also poses a high risk as he is "free-body." 안전놀이터

Ohtani, who signed a 10-year, $700 million contract, chose an exceptional deferred payment of $680 million from 10 years later, giving Glosno a big contract.

The Dodgers, thirsty for a World Series championship, is also targeting Japanese pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who is considered the second-largest free agent (FA) market.
