EPL Palace team's second goal, 2-0 win; 8th league goal, 1 lead Holan under pressure

Tottenham Son Heung-min celebrates after leading the victory against Crystal Palace in the English Premier League on the 28th.

Son Heung-min, captain of the national soccer team, scored for two consecutive games at Tottenham in the English Professional Football Premier League (EPL).

Thanks to Son Heung-min's performance, who scored the winning goal in two consecutive games, Tottenham took the lead by increasing its unbeaten streak to 10 games after the opening of the EPL in the 2023-2024 season.

Son scored his team's second goal in the 21st minute of the second half of the EPL's 10th round away match against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in London on the 28th. It is Son's eighth goal this season.

Son Heung-min, who took the lead in his team's 2-0 victory with the first winning goal in the 9th round against Fulham on the 24th, entered the competition for the top scorer by pressing league leader Erling Holan (Manchester City, 9 goals) by one goal.

Son's overall offensive points for the season have increased to nine (eight goals and one assist) including one against Fulham.

Tottenham led with an own goal by opposing defender Joel Ward and a goal by Son Heung-min in the second half of the day, but won 2-1 after giving up a comeback goal to Jordang Ayew in the extra time of the second half.

Following the match against Fulham, Captain Son Heung-min's goal became the winning goal, and Tottenham continued its unbeaten run (8 wins and 2 draws) in 10 games since the opening of the league to take the lead by accumulating points. It is five points behind second-place Manchester City (21 points), which has yet to play 10 rounds.

Crystal Palace, which lost its second consecutive league title, ranked 11th (12 points).

Tottenham, which placed Son Heung-min at the front line and was backed by Hisharlissong, James Madison and Dejan Kulusevski, struggled in the first half.

While Crystal Palace made eight shots, including two shots on target in the first half, Tottenham recorded only three shots without a shot on target even though it gained 73% of the possession.

Crystal Palace's own goal in the eighth minute of the second half turned the flow toward Tottenham. Papasar's cross from the right side of the penalty area deflected past the Crystal Palace player, and Madison's right-footed hard ball hit Ward's foot in front of the net and went in as it was, making Tottenham's first goal.

Tottenham, which replaced Hisarlisson with Brennan Johnson in the 19th minute of the second half and midfielder Yves Bissouma with Pierre-Emile Hoibier, widened the gap with a goal jointly scored by Johnson and Son Heung-min in the 21st minute of the second half.

Johnson, who exchanged the ball with Madison on the left side, passed to Son Heung-min, who was in the goal area, and Son Heung-min opened the goal with a left-footed finish. Tottenham, which continued its two-goal lead since then, changed Madison to Brian Hill in the 44th minute of the second half and slowly finished the game by putting Rodrigo Bentancur, who had been absent for a long time due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury, instead of Kulusevski. 스포츠토토
