PokerStars is bringing a twist to the classic Texas Hold'em format with Split Hold'em.

Launching today for a limited time only, Split Hold'em splits the community cards into two separate boards dealt simultaneously, creating two flops, two turns and two rivers. Classic strategies may well have to be reconsidered with the multitude of options and outcomes this new format presents.

Double the action and twice the fun, players have more opportunities to make a hand, with the winner of each board receiving half the pot. An entire pot can be scooped by holding the best hand for each board, or if all other players fold.

Additionally, for the first time, PokerStars will use its Seat Me system on the global liquidity player pool, meaning players can simply choose the stake they'd like to play at a Split Hold'em table and wait to be seated. No more manually choosing a table and a seat. Those not seated immediately will be placed on a waiting list.

Additional details about Split Hold'em can be found on the PokerStars Blog.
