Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc. on Feb. 21st kicked-off one of the most ambitious construction projects in the Ohio River Valley region in recent years. Pinnacle's Belterra Casino Resort broke ground on a $35 million expansion project that will add 300 guest rooms, for a total of over 600, and will also give the property approximately 33,000 square feet of meeting and conference space and other amenities.

The agenda called for Chairman and CEO of Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc., Daniel R. Lee, and Belterra's General Manager, Alain Uboldi, to speak to the press and local and state dignitaries in attendance. They turned the first shovel on the expansion project, scheduled for completion in Spring 2004.

The project will nearly double the property's guest room total and give it more meeting and conference space than any southern Indiana casino resort. Forty of the additional rooms will be suites, with amenities such as whirlpool-style bathtubs and free admission to the upscale Belterra spa and exercise facilities. An outdoor pool will also be added. Heated year-round, it will be one of the few outdoor pools in the region that can be enjoyed even in wintertime.

Currently employing roughly 1,391 people in a county with 9,374 residents in 2001, Belterra's expansion project will result in approximately 80 additional jobs.

"We are proud to create a bigger and better Belterra," said Dan Lee. "We have worked with Marnell Corrao Associates, the innovators of much of the present-day Las Vegas skyline, to make Belterra an irresistible destination for vacationers and meeting and conference attendees from throughout the Midwest. We are working hard to ensure that this beautiful region and its friendly people will benefit from the enhanced tax base that the expansion will bring, and we invite our neighbors to visit us soon to see all the
exciting developments." 바다이야기
