Invest 2.7 trillion to secure 27.7% stake; "return to world best beyond UK, Europe"

The English professional football Premier League (EPL) Manchester United (Manchester United) will take its first step as a "ratcliffe system" in 456 days after the announcement of the sale.

Manchester United announced on its website on the 21st that Jim Ratcliffe, the founder of global chemical group Ineos and widely known as a British billionaire, has finally acquired a 27.7% stake in the club. Ratcliffe, who was approved to become the owner by EPL on the 13th and the English Football Association (FA) on the 14th, completed the actual stake transaction, and the acquisition process has been completed.

According to the BBC, Ratcliffe has invested about 1.6 billion pounds (2.7 trillion won) in Manchester United through the deal. Ratcliffe has only secured a 27.7 percent stake but has now secured the status of co-owner thanks to the fact that he has acquired full management rights of the football team from his previous owner, the Glazer family. Ratcliffe said through the club, "Being a co-owner of Manchester United is a great honor and a great responsibility. The deal is over, but our journey to return Manchester United to the best team in the U.K., Europe and the world by establishing world-class facilities is just beginning."  토토사이트 순위

Ratcliffe's official title came 456 days after the Glazer family announced the sale of Manchester United. The Glazer family said in a statement on November 22, 2022 that they would seek strategic alternatives, including equity deals, for the future of the club. Since then, the competition to acquire the club has been a two-way race between a consortium led by Sheikh Jasim bin Hamad Al-Sani, chairman of Qatar's Islamic Bank (QIB), and Ratcliffe. The final winner was Ratcliffe, who had a solid interest with the Glazer family. According to the BBC, Qatar's capital offered a huge sum of more than 5 billion pounds (about 8.3 trillion won), but the Glazer family has reportedly withdrawn due to the judgment that it has no intention of completely handing over the stake. Under the deal, the management of Manchester United's men's and women's teams and management rights, including the academy, were all entrusted to Ineos.
