American League MVP Shohei Ohtani has canceled an interview.

Ohtani was unanimously named the American League MVP, receiving first-place votes from all 30 voters, according to the results of the American League MVP voting released by the Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA) on Sunday.

It was his second unanimous MVP award in 2021, making him the first player in Major League Baseball history to win the award twice.

The BBWAA's major individual awards are announced and the winners are interviewed shortly afterward.

Since it's not physically possible to have everyone in one place, a conference call is used.

On this occasion, Ohtani was scheduled to speak with the media on a conference call after the MVP award was announced. 카지노사이트777

The interview was scheduled to take place in the run-up to the free agency market, so the media attention was intense.

However, Ohtani was not available.

Major League Baseball did not disclose the exact reason for the cancellation. Instead, they said the interview was unavailable due to "environmental issues beyond Ohtani's control.

They reiterated that the interview was not canceled of his own volition.

This extended Otani's silence. Ohtani hasn't spoken to the media since August 10, when he was interviewed following a home start against the San Francisco Giants.

He made a start on the 24th of the same month, but left the mound with an elbow injury that ended his season.

He underwent surgery shortly after the season ended and will not pitch in 2024.
