KB Baduk League Reduced to 8 Teams, Selection Ceremony for 1st to 3rd Players on the 10th

Selection of foreign players for each team, excluding teams from Japan and Taiwan

The KB Kookmin Bank Baduk League, the largest league in Korea, begins a new season with a drastically reduced number of teams.

Korea Baduk Association announced on the 7th that the 2023-2024 KB Kookmin Bank Baduk League will hold the first player selection ceremony on the 10th.

A total of 12 teams, including selected teams from Japan and Taiwan, participated in the KB Baduk League last season, but this year only eight domestic teams will participate. 카지노사이트

Defending champion Kix (Kixx coach Kim Young-hwan), Jeonggwan Jang Cheon-nok (director Choi Myung-hoon), Korea Price Information (director Park Sang-sang)

Sooryeohan Hapcheon (director Go Geun-tae), Baduk Mecca Uijeongbu (director Kim Young-sam), Ulsan Korea Zinc (director Park Seung-hwa)

Wonik (Director Park Seung-hwa) Yeongam-gun (director Haewon Han) joined the existing 7 teams, including director Hee-seong Lee).
Korea Football Association's assessment is that while the number of teams decreased, the average skill of participating players increased.

The eight teams participating this season will decide on protected players by the 8th and then select 1 to 3 nominees on the 10th.

Players excluded from the first round of selection will hold a selection match from the 23rd to the 28th and then participate in the second selection ceremony for the 4th and 5th nominees to be held on the 30th.

In this season's KB Baduk League, the Japanese and Taiwanese starting teams are excluded, but each team can select one foreign player as a reserve player.

Once player selection is completed, the 2023-2024 KB Baduk League will begin a five-month journey, starting with the opening match on December 28.

This season, the two major leagues that operated last season will be abolished and a single league will be held.

In the regular league, 8 teams compete in a double league (14 rounds), with a total of 56 games played per team.

The top four teams in the regular league advance to the postseason, and the winner is determined through semi-playoffs (up to 2 games), playoffs (up to 3 games), and championship games (up to 3 games).

If the game is tied 2-2, the winner will be decided in an ace match in which each team's ace will participate.

The match is played using the Fischer method rather than a countdown, and is divided into 1 long-go game (40 minutes plus 20 seconds added)

3 games shorthand (10 minutes, 20 seconds added), and 1 game fast-paced (1 minute, 20 seconds added).

The prize money for the winning team is 250 million won, runner-up 100 million won, 3rd place 60 million won, and 4th place 30 million won.

Separate from the final prize money, a match fee of 14 million won was set for the winning team in each game and 7 million won for the losing team.

The 2023-2024 Baduk League, sponsored by KB Kookmin Bank as the title, is broadcast live every Thursday to Sunday from 7 PM on Baduk TV, Baduk TV's YouTube channel, and Naver Sports.
