Japanese figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu (27) has shocked the world by announcing her divorce after 105 days of marriage. Hanyu is one of the most popular figure skating stars in Japan, with many fans in Japan and abroad for her delicate and beautiful skating.

"I want to make my wife happy, so I'm getting a divorce," Hanyu wrote in a lengthy post on his official channel on Sunday night. The couple had married in secret in August.

He wrote, "We got married with the intention of sincerely respecting and cherishing each other. However, my wife has been unable to take a step out of the house due to excessive attention. Suspicious vehicles and people roamed the neighborhood. We faced difficulties in our marriage and finally decided to divorce," he said in the announcement.

Hanyu had previously announced their marriage on August 4 through the same channel. Although he protected his wife's identity as a member of the public, the announcement drew even more attention to the couple after her real name and photo were published. 먹튀검증

In the end, the excessive attention from the media and fans during their short three-month marriage seems to have led to the breakdown of their marriage. Hanyu said, "When I thought about my future, I decided to get a divorce, thinking that this is the only way to make my partner happy. It was a painful decision, thinking about the other person's life," he said.

"I would like to appeal to my ex-wife, her family, and the media to refrain from slanderous and indiscriminate coverage in the future."

Meanwhile, Japanese-born world-class figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu won the men's singles gold medal at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, following his gold at Sochi 2014. He was ranked first in the men's singles at the 2020 ISU Four Continents Figure Championships.
