Jamaica: Economic crisis throws cold water on gambling

The domestic gaming industry is bracing for the worst of the current economic meltdown, which has cost some industry players up to a third of their gambling profits over the past six months.
"At the root of the problem are the erosion of disposable income from inflation, the collapse of alternative investment schemes and other weakened financial pressures in the economy. The fallout has slowed sales sharply in industries where consumer spending is mostly discretionary.
