The free participation fee policy of the Korea 3x3 Basketball Federation (KXO) has been well received and is helping to expand the 3x3 base.

The 2024 KXO 3x3 Hongcheon Tour and the second round of the KXO League are being held in Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do, for two days from the 24th to the 25th. The tournament will be played in four types, including U15, U18, men's open division and KXO League, with a total of 50 teams participating in the two-day competition.

KXO, which started its schedule in January earlier than usual due to the FIBA 3x3 Hongcheon Challenger 2024 schedule scheduled to be held in May, has converted participation fees for general participants, excluding the KXO League, such as U15, U18, and men's open teams, for free from this year to expand the base of 3x3.

KXO, which has been well received by participating teams for implementing a free participation fee policy since the first round in January, also implemented a free participation fee policy in the second round, which will leave a record that all 45 teams, the largest teams that can be registered in all three categories, will be registered.

"People say that 3x3 is popular, but we believe that the downward trend of 3x3 has begun when we judge ourselves," said Song Tae-hoon, executive director of KXO. "Although the players who led the popularity of 3x3 are still alive, new faces are not appearing to follow them, and basketball clubs are no longer interested in 3x3 because the ways in which 3x3 organizations in Korea play the tournament are uniformly similar."

"Once again, I thought a lot to increase my interest in 3x3, and KXO decided not to receive participation fees for general participation types starting this year. Through this, teenagers can get out of the burden of participation fees, which were paid 50,000 won to 70,000 won, so I expected more students to play on the 3x3 court." He added, "We implemented a free participation fee policy from the first round and continued the policy in the second round, and I am glad that the response was good."

"We conducted a survey and found that teenagers were burdened with participation fees, so we started a free participation fee policy, which seems to be leading to a positive effect for both KXO and teenage participants so far. In fact, receiving participation fees does not contribute much to the operation of the competition, so KXO will continue its free participation fee policy for general categories in the future so that as many teenagers as possible can enjoy 3x3 comfortably," he said. 토토사이트 추천
