The Doosan Bears have completed their foreign roster for the 2024 season by signing Henry Ramos, who played for the KT Wiz, and retaining all of their foreign pitchers.

"We re-signed foreign pitchers Raul Alcantara (31) and Brandon Waddell (29) and added a new foreign hitter, Henry Ramos (31)," Doosan announced on July 21.

Alcantara signed for a total of $1.5 million ($500,000 signing bonus, $800,000 annual salary, $200,000 incentive). Alcantara, who has been in the KBO since 2019 with the KT Wiz, spent the 2020 season with Doosan, where he went 20-2 with a 2.54 ERA, before joining the Hanshin Tigers of Nippon Professional Baseball. However, he didn't have the same success with Hanshin, and he was reunited with Doosan ahead of this season and returned to the KBO.

While his performance in Hanshin was below expectations, he has a history of being an "ace" in the KBO, where he has performed well. Alcantara anchored the Doosan mound in 2023, going 13-9 with a 2.67 ERA in 31 appearances and 192 innings pitched, helping the team reach the postseason after finishing ninth in its inaugural season last year.

Doosan will also keep Brandon on board. The team signed Brandon for a total of $1.13 million ($250,000 signing bonus, $750,000 annual salary, $130,000 incentive). Brandon joined the team during the 2023 season as a substitute foreign player, posting an 11-3 record and a 2.49 ERA in 18 games. He was the first Doosan substitute foreign-born pitcher to reach 10 wins.  카지노사이트777

As for the foreign bats, the team has a new signing. Henry Ramos, who last wore KT's uniform in the 2022 season. Back then, Ramos packed it in after 18 games due to injury, but this time, he's staying with Doosan. Ramos was signed for a total of $700,000 ($50,000 signing bonus, $550,000 annual salary, $100,000 incentive). Ramos is a right-handed hitting outfielder with a big frame (183 cm, 97 kg) who can swing for power from both left and right field, with strong shoulders and a good leadoff hitter.

Ramos performed well in exhibition games for the KT Wiz in 2022. He quickly adapted to the KBO, but was released on April 23 after fracturing his toe. In 2023, he played 76 games in the pitcher-friendly International League (Triple-A), batting .318 with a .411 on-base percentage, 13 home runs, 55 RBIs, and a .954 OPS. In six seasons at Triple-A, Ramos' numbers continue to climb, with a .301 batting average, 55 home runs, and an OPS of .847 in 440 games.

"We were looking for an outfielder with defensive capabilities due to the wide outfield of Jamsil Stadium," said a Doosan official, "Ramos is considered to have major league average defense and strong shoulders. Ramos has a short bat to the ball and has the strength of being a spray heater with an inside-out swing."
