Pegula will face China's Yuan Yue, ranked 128th in the world, in the singles final of the Hana Bank Korea Open (total prize money of 259,303 dollars) on the Women's Professional Tennis Tour at Olympic Park Tennis Court in Songpa-gu, Seoul on the 15th.

Pegula, who is ranked the highest in the world among the participants in the tournament, beat his competitors with top-seeded skills and reached the final.

Pegula's challenge to win is drawing more attention because he is mixed with Korean blood.

Pegula's Mother Kim Pegula was born in Seoul. She was adopted by the United States in 1974 when she was five, and married businessman Terry Pegula in 1993.

Pegula's parents are entrepreneurs who run natural gas, real estate, sports and entertainment businesses in the United States, with a net worth of 5 billion dollars (about 6.7 trillion won).

Pegula, who first participated in the 2019 Korea Open, said at the time, "I am half-Korean."

Pegula said, "I don't think there's any competition like the Korea Open to participate before the final. The city of Seoul is cool, he said. "I want to bring about the end of this season."

Meanwhile, Pegula's final opponent Yuan Yue reached the WTA final for the first time by beating 116th-ranked Emina Bektas (6-7, 6-4, 6-2) in the semifinals the previous day.

The singles final between Pegula and Yuanwe begins at 3 p.m.
