Chung Mong-gyu, president of the Korea Football Association, is attending an executive meeting related to national football team issues held at the Football Center in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 16th... At the executive meeting on this day, pending issues of the national team, including the National Team Power Strengthening Committee's recommendation to dismiss coach Jurgen Klinsmann, will be discussed.

Chung Mong-gyu, president of the Korea Football Association (KFA), with a dark expression, attended an emergency executive meeting. The decision to dismiss coach Jurgen Klinsmann (Germany) is imminent.

The Korea Football Association began a KFA executive meeting at 10 am on the 16th with key executives including Chairman Chung Mong-gyu in attendance.

A total of 10 people attended the event, including Chairman Chung Mong-gyu, Executive Vice Chairman Kim Jeong-bae, Vice Chairman Choi Young-il, Games Committee Chairman Jeong Hae-seong, Technology Development Committee Chairman Lee Im-saeng, Ethics Committee Chairman Lee Yun-nam, Social Contribution Committee Chairman Kim Tae-young, Technology Division Director Hwang Bo-gwan, Games Operations Division Director Kim Jin-hang, and Management Division Director Jeon Han-jin. did. The meeting is held privately.

The main agenda of the emergency executive meeting is Director Klinsmann’s future. The previous day (15th), the Football Association's National Team Strengthening Committee discussed the results of the 2023 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup at the Football Center in Jongno-gu, Seoul and reached a consensus on the dismissal of Coach Klinsmann.
Hwang Bo-gwan, head of the Korea Football Association's technical headquarters, is answering questions from reporters after completing the first power enhancement committee meeting of 2024 held at the Shinmun-ro Soccer Center in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 15th.

After completing the Strengthening Committee, Technical Director Hwang Bo-gwan said, “The committee decided that Coach Klinsmann could no longer demonstrate leadership as the national team coach, so a consensus was reached that a replacement was needed.” He added, “We will report the results of the meeting to the KFA.”

Klinsmann was humiliated by not being able to hit a single effective shot against Jordan in the Asian Cup semifinals that ended on the 10th, and was defeated 0-2. The Taegeuk Warriors aimed to win the Asian Cup for the first time in 64 years, but were disappointed with the futile results.

Coach Klinsmann was criticized throughout the Asian Cup for relying on individual players without any specific tactics. He even heard the sarcasm, ‘(Heung Min-ah) play soccer’ not only in Korea but also abroad.

There was already a lot of noise ahead of the Asian Cup. Coach Klinsmann received a lot of criticism for his incomprehensible actions, such as the successive outing controversy, working from home, and obtaining opposing captain Aaron Ramsey's jersey to give to his son after the friendly match against Wales.

To make matters worse, the issue of national team management also arose. It was reported that the national team's captain Son Heung-min (Tottenham) and key midfielder Lee Kang-in (Paris Saint-Germain) had a heated argument ahead of the semifinals against Jordan. In the process, Son Heung-min suffered a dislocated finger. 고스톱
