South Korean soccer player Hwang Eui-jo (Norwich City) has been accused of illegally filming sex, and a civil society organization has released a statement calling for his expulsion from the national team.

"Does a soccer player who has been accused of illegally filming sex have the right to play for the Republic of Korea?" the sports civic organization said in a statement on Thursday, "He should refrain from playing or resign from the national team."

Referring to Hwang's participation in the World Cup qualifiers, the Sports Citizens' Alliance said, "Even before the guilt or discipline is confirmed, it is natural to disqualify a player from the national team if some evidence raises questions. Even before the controversy is resolved, measures such as suspension should have been taken."

Coach Jürgen Klinsmann spoke to reporters upon his return to Korea on the 22nd and said, "Hwang Eui-jo is our player. The allegations have not yet been proven or accurately presented," he said. 토토

"He is a very good player and has a lot to offer, and I hope he will go back (to his club) and score a lot of goals, stay in top form and play a big role for the national team," he said.

"The Korean Football Association should immediately apologize publicly and revoke the national team membership of the player who illegally filmed and secondarily perpetrated the incident," the coalition said.

Meanwhile, Hwang's club Norwich City will host Queens Park Rangers on Sept. 26 (KST).
