Klinsmann shared a foreign article on his social networking service on Friday (local time) that reported Son's return to Korea, saying, "This is fantastic news today. Welcome home Junho."

Son Joon-ho, who played in the Chinese professional football Super League, was arrested on May 12 last year on charges of taking non-state operatives while trying to return home from Hongqiao Airport in Shanghai and was questioned by Chinese authorities.

The possibility that Son Joon-ho participated in the manipulation of the match or that money was exchanged in the process of transferring to Shandong Taishan has been mentioned, but Son Joon-ho has strongly denied this suspicion.

In the end, Son Joon-ho returned to Korea after about 10 months without making clear what conclusions the Chinese authorities had reached and released him.

Former coach Klinsman has repeatedly expressed regret over the inability to use Son Joon-ho when he was leading the Korean national team.

In particular, Son Joon-ho, who could not play at the time of the A match in June last year, was included in the list.

Former coach Klinsmann was dismissed last month due to the elimination of the 2023 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup semi-final, which ended in Qatar, and the lack of control over the team due to Son Heung-min (Tottenham) and Lee Kang-in (Paris Saint-Germain).

Although he did not have a direct relationship with Son Joon-ho, he was happy to return safely and showed off his extraordinary affection until the end.

Meanwhile, Son Joon-ho, who recently returned, said on his SNS, "I feel grateful to be able to come back safely, spend a comfortable time with my family, and enjoy a normal daily life."
