Manchester United legend Gary Neville 49 criticized Liverpool's performance.

"No one would have expected Liverpool to compete for the championship," Neville said on the Gary Neville Podcast on the 15th. "It's a monumental achievement of coach Jurgen Klopp," adding, "They've done well so far."

Regarding Liverpool's elimination from the FA Cup in the 2023/24 season and its departure from winning the UEFA Europa League hereinafter referred to as UEL and Premier League PL, he said, "They have the potential to create miracles in Atalanta away. It's the way Liverpool has always done it," and analyzed, "In the PL, Manchester City hereinafter referred to as Manchester City and Arsenal's performance is better."

The criticism is not unfounded. Liverpool currently ranks 18th in the actual goal conversion -9.98 compared to the expected goal xG among the 20 PL teams. The team's defense capability is terrible, as it allowed 15 runs in nine matches after the last scoreless game against Nottingham Forest in early March.

There is no "force" to compete with. Liverpool scored the first goal in 21 of 51 official matches this season. Rather, the team had come from behind to win, which covered its problems.

It is also hard to expect a promising future. Except for Alexis McAleenan, Dominic Sobosly, Ryan Hravenberg, Cody Gakpo, and Darwin Núñez, who were brought in for a generational change, are all close to being "failed recruitment." For this reason, Klopp's next coach will be in trouble.

The good thing about the misfortune is that the rival team Arsenal was also held back. Manchester City, which has a relatively relaxed schedule, is certainly in an advantageous situation, but there are still six games left, so we don't know what will happen.

Liverpool seemed to be continuing its smooth "Klopp's Last Dance" by beating Chelsea in February and lifting the Carabao Cup. It fell victim to an unexpected incident in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup against Manchester United in mid-March and gradually declined. It culminated in its slump by losing two consecutive Anfield games against Atalanta BC and Crystal Palace.    토토사이트

Currently, Liverpool has 21 wins, eight draws, three losses and 71 points from 32 matches of the PL, two points behind top-ranked Manchester City. Although it is in the quarterfinals at the UEL, it was already routed by Atalanta 0-3 in the first round.
