History

Berube first started making music at 13 years old, doing techno, trance and hardstyle on his lordlion4 YouTube channel. He later gave himself the alias DJ Tristam, now just Tristam.

Later, Berube abandoned his lordlion4 channel and made a new channel called TheOfficialTristam (now called just Tristam), changing his alias to Tristam. He slowly changed his style to Dubstep, then began experimenting with other genres, such as Electro House and Drum & Bass.

The very first album he released was Bankable, released on 100%PurProd, then he released his second album, My Ghosts EP on Twisted Monkey Records.

Berube's popularity began to grow following the release of his track "Party For The Living" as his debut on Canadian record label Monstercat. On January 2, 2012, Berube released his second single, "Follow Me", which eventually grew to one of the most-viewed songs on the label. Berube's Smashing Newbs EP (January 11, 2012) marked fellow producer Rogue's first release. On October 24, Tristam released a track called "Truth" after taking a break from releases to refine his sound. "Truth" marked a significant change in sound for him, and has grown to become one of the most highly regarded releases on the label. Monstercat co-founder Mike Darlington remarked "[I] was blown away when finally receiving the master to Truth. It showed a new level of attention to detail that really brought out his [Tristam's] own original style. I have trouble comparing Tristam to any other artist, he is his own."

In 2013, Tristam released a collaboration with producer Braken, titled "Flight", which has since grown to be the most popular release on Monstercat, amassing over 30 million views as of 2015. Later that year, he released a track called "Razor Sharp" with Pegboard Nerds, which has also grown immensely in popularity. After a VIP mix of the song was released on Pegboard Nerds' Guilty Pleasures EP, Tristam didn't release music until his return to Monstercat in late December, with a track titled "Till It's Over".

In 2014, Tristam released three tracks, beginning with "Once Again". A second Braken collaboration titled "Frame of Mind" was released on April 25, having gained several millions of views. He concluded his 2014 run in December with "My Friend".

Tristam returned on March 6, 2015, with a third Braken collaboration called "Far Away". Around this time, he confirmed that he is working on an album, whose titled was later revealed as All Is Within. No further information or release date on the album has been confirmed. On May 27, Tristam released "Empire of Sound", a remix of "Build the Cities" by Karma Fields, featuring Estonian pop star Kerli. His track "Crave" was released alongside a music video directed by Adrian Pereyra. Roughly a month prior to this, several unreleased songs by Tristam were leaked online via his Dropbox account, including "Crave" and many other tracks speculated to be included on All Is Within. "Crave" was listed as a track included on the album. On December 27, 2015 however the LP was canceled, citing the reason of wanting to release multiple singles instead in 2016.
