Trimezia fosteriana is a species of bulbous plant in the family Iridaceae. Due to attractive aspect of its leaves and exuberant and delicate yellow flowers, is widely used in cities with ornamental purposes and gardening, in South America. This species is easily confused with Neomarica longifolia, due to the similarity of its yellow flowers. However, Neomarica is distinct from Trimezia by the presence of a leafy flower stem.

Distribution

Native of Venezuela and the Caribbean, this species is widely cultivated through the world, due to cold tolerance, although a tropical climate.
