Trillium Circle is the name of an outdoor shopping center which, as of mid-2008, is under construction outside the city of Grand Blanc, a suburb of Flint, Michigan, United States. Under development since 2004, the shopping center is located on Holly Road on the south side of Grand Blanc. It features an IMAX movie theater owned by NCG Cinemas, as well the 500th location for the restaurant chain Buffalo Wild Wings, along with a Bagger Dave's. The rest of the property, which is owned by CB Richard Ellis, has yet to be developed.

History

Plans for Trillium Circle were first announced in late 2004 by its developers. A site was chosen for the property, on Holly Road south of Grand Blanc itself. At the time, the only other business operating nearby was a grocery store called Colony Market, a former Spartan Stores affiliate. This grocery store was to have been replaced with a newer Colony Market, 40,000 square feet (3,700 m2) in size, which would have been incorporated into the Trillium Circle development itself; however, Colony Market closed its store in March 2006, and its property was sold to the developers of Trillium Circle.

The property, when completed, will be a lifestyle center composed of 275,000 square feet (25,500 m2) of retail space, with various boutiques and restaurants completing the tenant roster. Development has been slow, due mainly to struggling economy in the state of Michigan. Initially, the center was to have opened in 2006, while a leasing packet issued by CB Richard Ellis placed the date of opening in early 2007.

In May 2006, a 14-screen movie theater owned by NCG Cinemas was opened. The theater added an IMAX screen, which opened in late 2007. The theater's addition was followed in March 2008 by the 500th location for the Minneapolis, Minnesota-based Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant chain. Plans have also been announced for four other restaurants in the area, as well as further development on the shopping center itself. As of February 2009, the only other business that has been built on the location is a credit union branch. A Bagger Dave's burger tavern opened next to Buffalo Wild Wings in late 2014.
