The New Ontario Gardener

Trevor Cole (born Trevor Jack Cole in the United Kingdom) is a non-fiction author specialising in gardening topics. He is based in Ottawa, Canada at Kinburn.

In 1960, he graduated in horticulture in England, following training at the Kew Gardens.

He moved to Canada in 1967, continuing his career in horticulture. From 1972 to 1995, he was Curator at the Dominion Arboretum in Ottawa.

Cole was a columnist for the Ottawa Citizen and a consultant for Reader's Digest in Canada. He currently conducts speaking engagements. He was the president of the Ottawa Horticultural Society from 1974 to 1976 and again in 1980. Cole is also a former director of the Rhododendron Society of Canada.

Awards and recognition

Cole received a Canada 125 medal in 1992. He has also received other recognitions for his horticultural writing.
