Trent Preszler, Ph.D. (born 1977) is an American wine industry executive who promotes the winegrowing regions of New York. He is CEO of Bedell Cellars on the North Fork of Long Island, and Chairman of the Board of WineAmerica, the National Association of American Wineries based in Washington, D.C. He secured the placement of Bedell Cellars Merlot as the exclusive red wine of President Barack Obama's 2013 Inaugural Luncheon—the first time in American history that a New York wine was served at a Presidential Inauguration. As a sideline to his wine career, Preszler builds wooden boats in his eponymous Preszler Woodshop, which was profiled in a full-page feature story in The Wall Street Journal Magazine. He was also named one of the Top 10 Tastemakers of 2015 by OUT Magazine, the world's largest gay fashion and lifestyle publication. A South Dakota native, Preszler graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Iowa State University in 1998 and later earned an M.S. in Agricultural Economics and a Ph.D. in Horticulture from Cornell University.
