Trasna na dTonnta ([ˈt̪ˠɾˠasˠnˠə n̪ˠə ˈd̪ˠɔn̪ˠt̪ˠə], Across the Waves) is a traditional Irish song often taught to primary school children. The 20th century Scottish song "Westering Home" may be derived from it.
The upbeat song is a narration of a rover who is returning to Ireland following his travels abroad.
The name of the song has been co-opted and used as the title for the newsletter of the Irish sea kayaking association. The song originates from the Gaoth Dobhair area of County Donegal.
