Transactions of the Philological Society is a linguistics journal published three times a year by Wiley-Blackwell on behalf of the Philological Society. It has appeared since 1854, making it the oldest scholarly linguistics journal. It is currently edited by Paul Rowlett (University of Salford).
Each year, one issue of Transactions is devoted to a specific theme, with previous thematic issues including Languages of Early Britain (2011), Germanic Philology (2006) and Nominal Composition in Indo-European Languages (2002).
