Tormé is best known for having created the science fiction series Sliders, but worked for Saturday Night Live, Odyssey 5, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Carnivàle as well.
Tormé was nominated for, but did not win, the 1993 Saturn Award for Best Writing for his work on the film Fire in the Sky. His father was noted singer Mel Tormé.
