TownePlace Suites is a member of the Marriott International chain of hotels. The chain, part of the mid-tier extended stay lodging segment of the hospitality industry, features all-suites hotels. As of year-end 2016, TownePlace Suites operates more than 300 hotels throughout the United States and Canada.
History
TownePlace Suites launched in 1997 with its first location in Newport News, Virginia. By 2002, TownePlace Suites already had 100 locations, making it Marriott International’s fastest-growing brand. In 2006, TownePlace Suites redesigned its properties to have a modernized lobby and a live/work space in the suites.
