Plot
The film based in New York shows a street smart young girl manipulating her way into a fancy hotel job just a week before a grand wedding that’s been the talk of the town for some time. Meanwhile, Jerry is looking for a new home after being chased away by Tom. Consequently, the girl finds out that Jerry has taken residence in the same hotel and hires Tom to exterminate his mortal enemy. The film explores the iconic frenemy duo’s rivalry throughout the film. As the mayhem ensues at the eve of the wedding, the legendary battle between the cat and mouse puts the event planner’s job, the wedding and the hotel in jeopardy. At the end when Tom and Jerry reconcile with their mistake, they insist the hotel crew and the event planner to work and put back things into its place. As the happy ending ensues, the film leaves a mark.
Review
The 2021 film desperate to feed the eager audience fails to focus on the dynamic duo of the supposedly protagonists, Tom and his mortal enemy Jerry. The cast will convince you that there was an actual animated animal next to them while shooting. However, the shift of the focal point to the dull humans was unnecessary as all that the audience asked for was the classic rivalry between the duo. Despite a shorter screen time than expected, the legendary duo delivers what was expected of them. You will find yourself giggling as the duo keep the chase game on as it will remind you of those days of watching the epic cartoon. All in all, the film hangs loosely around the characters but hits the string of nostalgia just right which makes this one worth-watching.
