History

The magazine was the brainchild of Alun Probert who then went on to also found Fore! magazine. The first issue featured Seve Ballesteros on the cover and the launch editor was Bill Robertson. In the early 1990s, Today's Golfer made magazine publishing history in being the first magazine to give away a free golf ball attached to the cover, with sales of those issues rumoured to be over 100,000 copies. Editors have included Bob Warters and Paul Hamblin. The current editor is Chris Jones. Recent circulation figures show that Today's Golfer retains it's long term position as Britains biggest selling golf magazine, with a circulation of 46, 715.
