Tirupati Thimmappa is very much alive in janapada (Kannada) culture of south India. When people take pilgrimage to Tirupati, they chant 'Tirupati Thimmappana Padakke Govinda Govindaa'. He was Kula Devata (Mane Devaru) of Tulu Gowda and Kodagu Gowda.
