Tipster is an iOS phone app that connects users to a vast network of fashion, beauty and hair experts for personal appearance advice. It also supports live video consultations within the application. According to its developers, the purpose of Tipster is to help users, feel confident, appropriate, and comfortable in all settings.
Background
Tipster allows users submit photos of themselves within the app, highlighting the area for consultation – fashion, beauty or hair. Tipster’s team of freelance stylists will them provide with advice either in the form of:
- a single question quick advice with a fixed price or
- virtual timed sessions with a Stylist advise on an existing wardrobe, make up looks, or go shopping with users.
The stylists are freelance professionals who can create their own business and enhance their brand through the Tipster app. Stylists apply, and are vetted through a thorough background check. Stylists are required to have 5,000 minimum followers on Instagram or significant experience in styling or repped by a top beauty agency.
