The single cover for the song was first teased on K. Michelle's Instagram on February 26, 2016 with eight shots of the cover before the full cover was revealed. Two short 15 second snippet videos were released on K. Michelle's Instagram rehearsing the song "Time".
Critical reception
The song was received well by critics and blogs, hotnewhiphop.com described the song as "Her new single "Time" may be her best yet. The Atlantean showcases her vocal range as she sings about relationship hopes and woes over a smooth, gospel-tinged chord progression.
