Tim Smith (philanthropist)

Tim Smith (born 8 March 1951) is the current Director of Breadline Africa. He hails from KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, where he worked in ministry in rural areas before moving to Gauteng and ending up in Soweto. He has worked at Voter Education for the 1994 South African general election, been a witness at the Truth Commission, run a refugee service in Johannesburg and a church-based national network of healthcare clinics before moving to Cape Town in 2009 to take over as Director of Breadline Africa. He is married with one son.
