Tim Donovan is the political editor for the BBC's regional news service for London, BBC London News. He also presents the London regional opt-out for Sunday Politics each Sunday on BBC One.

Donovan initially trained in newspapers, before becoming a political reporter on Around Westminster. He then became a general reporter for the regional news programme Newsroom South East, which was later replaced by BBC London and BBC South East Today. He won Broadcaster of the Year in the 2001 BT awards, for a report on Ken Livingstone's campaign to become mayor, having followed him around for a month with a digital video camera.

Tim has four children and lives in south London. He was a school governor at Fircroft School Of Tooting but now holds that position at Orleans Park School . In his spare time he enjoys holidays, football, walking and reading. His father is the long-time Daily Mail bridge correspondent, Peter Donovan.
