Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness | Official Trailer | Netflix
It was during the early months of the 2020 Covid pandemic that we all were bingeing on one show after the other with abandon. One show that emerged victorious on Netflix with its stellar ratings and positive reception was Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, titled onscreen simply as Tiger King.

Highlighting the tussles of cat collectors and cat conservationists, with the spotlight on zoo operator, Joe Exotic, the show has been ranked as one the most successful Netflix releases of all time.
Plot

While the miniseries explores the interwoven circle that cat conservationists and cat collectors share, the prime focus of the show is the Tiger King, Joe Exotic, and his vitriolic dispute with the CEO of Big Cat Rescue, Carole Baskin. Baskin is an animal rights activist by profession but Exotic claims she is merely a rivalling zookeeper, who seeks to get rid of him.
Joe’s fascinating professional and personal life – be it the fact that he hired a hitman to kill Carole Baskin or his three-partner marriage, there is a lot to unpack here. Other than Exotic, there are other personalities from this society such as Bhagavan Antle, Jeff Lowe, and James Garretson.
Review

We will tell you right away: the hype around Tiger King is worth it. First things first, it has a vibrant house of characters that it makes use of perfectly. Instead of resorting to stylistics, it lets the characters do the talking, which reels us right in, because the things they have to share are entirely engaging.
Tiger King rises to the challenge of its brimming premise. It does not fall prey to the mistakes the true crime genre is often susceptible to. It does not dehumanize Joe Exotic but, the show does not glorify him either.
Tiger King shows Joe for who he is: a human being with equal capacity to be both good and bad. This one is a watch that is entertainment exemplified, with not a piece amiss.
