The Thiruvanath Sreekrishna Temple is Krishna temple located in Ayyanthole in the Thrissur district of Kerala, India.

Renovating the temples is considered to bring all type of prosperity to the people and the king Appan Tampuran has taken the decision to build the Thiruvatah temple after he discovered the belongings required for a temple construction near by the Kovilakam Kottaram’s pond. He observed a snake being followed by a Garudan during his bath and noticed stones required for the temple is lying near by Anglia tree. It is considered that the Gurudan has disappeared from the nest it has on that tree and gives opportunities for mining the place in order to recover the temple parts. Among these recovered finishing stones, only one big stone that required for the inside the temple Kottalam was missing. This required one big stone was later offered for the temple by Peringavu Chembukavu Namboodiri’s land upon request for the elder brother Kochunni Tampuran.

The parts of the temple that were recovered was historically belongs to famous Kizakinedathu Mana’ Thiruvanath Temple. King of Kochi has sized all the properties of this mana during the fight with samoothiri were the mana was supporting the opposite. The temple was renovated by Appan Tampuran with his own money as there was not much support received from the government for the same. The presiding deity in the temple is lord Srikrishna, and to the right of this beautiful vigraha Lord Kiratha Moorthi Siva’s also placed that was brought from river Ganga by the King himself. Famous Puliyannor Kunchunni Namboodiri Pad has done the Pradishta at a suggested time by astrologer Kodungallor Kochunninamboodirpad. The auspicious ceremony was carried out as identifying snake bite of nanikutttiamma’s brother as the indication. Even though this occasion was on an evening, Krishan Paruthu was circling the Kodimaram/flag pole. The event took place on year 1088 Edavam 4th.

Appan Tampuran himself has given structure for festival of this temple. The festival starts from Choti star in the month of Meenam and is carry forward till the thiruvonam arattu. The vary rarely seen event called desa pradashinam is part of this festival, in which thedevotees expected to take the god outside the temple and see his desam. During the sixth day of the festival with seven elephants the god has been taken. Later, Tampuran and family has been relocated and the temple become the keeredam of Vadakum Nathan Temple. Apart from the Sreekrishna and Kiratha moorthi, later pradishta of lord Ayyappa and ganapathi was also took place. Brahmarakshasu is also placed on a land that was later offered to the temple by a land lord adjacent to temple premises. The presence of bagavathi was also identified, supposed by layer of Kalvilakku brought from Kunnamulam for temple construction and has been later worshiped by devotes over a Pala tree in this land.
