Thelypteris pilosa is a species of fern known by the common names hairy maiden fern, softhairy maiden fern, and streak-sorus fern. It is native to Mexico and Central America, with one variety occurring in the United States. The fern has a disjunct distribution, with var. alabamensis known from Winston County, Alabama, 2,000 kilometres (1,200 mi) from any other populations of this species. This variety is now treated by some authors as a species in its own right, Thelypteris burksiorum. This plant is federally listed as a threatened species of the United States. There are two other varieties limited to Mexico and Central America, var. major and var. pilosa.
