The Wombats discography

The discography of The Wombats, a Liverpool-based indie rock group, consists of three studio albums, four extended plays and six singles.

The band released their debut extended play (EP), Girls, Boys and Marsupials in Japan through an independent record label in September 2006. "Moving to New York" was released as the band's first official single in October 2006 as a limited edition 7" vinyl. A second Japan-only EP was released in 2007, The Wombats Go Pop! Pop! Pop!; which was released through 14th Floor Records following the band's signing with the label. Their debut studio album, A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation was first released in the United Kingdom in November 2007; where it debuted on the UK Albums Chart at number 11; before going on to be certified Platinum by the British Phonographic Industry. In April 2007, the band released "Backfire at the Disco", which debuted on the UK Singles Chart at number sixty-seven. "Kill the Director" then marked the band's first top 40 hit when it peaked at number thirty-five upon release in June. Other singles included; "Let's Dance to Joy Division", which peaked at number fifteen, "Moving to New York" found a new peak of thirteen following a re-release, "Backfire at the Disco" was also re-released and reached a new peak of forty. The final single to have been released from the debut album was a re-release of "Kill the Director", which peaked at number forty-eight. The album was succeeded by another EP, their first US release, The Wombats EP, through KIDS in America and Bright Antenna.

In September 2010, The Wombats released the lead single from their second album, This Modern Glitch, entitled "Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves)" debuted in the UK at number twenty-three; also managing to peak at number thirty-three in Australia. The second single to be released from the album, "Jump Into the Fog" was released in January 2011 as part of a four-track EP, where it debuted at number thirty-five in the UK. This Modern Glitch was released in April 2011.

On 2nd October 2013, The Wombats released the first single from their third album, entitled "Your Body Is a Weapon".

Triple J Hottest 100

The Triple J Hottest 100 is an annual music listener poll hosted by national Australian radio station, Triple J, to determine their favourite song of the year. Songs by The Wombats have appeared on numerous occasions.
