Ellen Oléria, a 29 year-old soul singer from Brasília, won the competition on December 16, 2012 with 39% of the final vote, representing Team Brown.
Auditions
Online applications for The Voice Brasil were open from May 13 to July 23, 2012. Selected applications were then called to regional auditions held in eight capital cities across Brazil:
Over 20.000 singers sent online applications, but only 105 of them were selected to perform on the blind audition phase.

The Battles
The Battles round started with episode 5 and ended with episode 7 (broadcast from October 21 to November 4, 2012). Season one's advisors include: Preta Gil for Team Lulu, Rogerio Flausino for Team Brown, Ed Motta for Team Claudia and Luiza Possi for Team Daniel. The coaches can steal three losing artists from another coach. Contestants who win their battle or are stolen by another coach will advance to the Live Playoffs.
Live shows
The Live shows are the final phase of the competition. It consists of the playoffs, three weekly shows and the season finale.

Week 1: Live Playoffs
The Live Playoffs comprised episodes 8, 9, and 10. The top thirty-six artists perform, with three artists from each team advancing based on the viewers' vote, and each coach completing their respective teams with another three of their own choice.
Week 4: Quarter-Finals
The Quarter-Finals comprised episodes 11 and 12. The top twenty-four artists perform, with two artists from each team advancing based on the viewers' vote, and each coach completing their respective teams with their own choice.
