The Special Consensus is a four-person acoustic bluegrass group led by banjoist Greg Cahill based in Chicago that has been in operation since 1975. The group was nominated for a Grammy in 2013 for the "Best Bluegrass Album" category for Scratch Gravel Road. The group currently consists of Greg Cahill (banjo), Nick Dumas (mandolin), Dan Eubanks (upright bass), and Rick Faris (guitar).
